A Filipino cyclist was killed in a car accident on March 20 while he was cycling to attend a cycling event in Bali district, New Taipei City, local police said. Phuong added that it was trying to find the driver.
The accident happened at 4:27 a.m. near Rui-Ping Primary School, when the 32-year-old cyclist and two Filipino companions were traveling from Linkou district to Bali, police said.
According to police, a car hit the victim from behind, but the driver then abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
The victim had no vital signs when police arrived and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police said they are trying to contact the owner of the vehicle to investigate.
