Taiwan’s ranking of its 5G download speeds improved on a global scale from 15th from 20th place, according to the latest survey by mobile analytics firm Opensignal.
The country does even better for the experience it offers players, ranked 7th or on par with Japan.
In the first quarter of 2019, before the launch of 5G, Taiwan recorded download speeds of 26.6 MB/s, ranking 20th in the world, according to Opensignal. The latest survey of 100 countries, conducted in the last quarter of 2021, showed that Taiwan’s download speed improved to 44.8 Mbps, allowing it to climb to 15th place, on par with Lithuania.
When it came to rush hour, Taiwan’s speeds rose from 16.8 Mbps in 2018 to 25.7 Mbps in 2021, the review said.
